To personalize a blank resin Christmas ornament in your shop, test a fine-tip permanent pen on a sample, prepare the customer's spelling, and write within the design's intended name area. Check that the ink dries and stays legible on the actual finish before offering the service. Wholesale Ornaments supplies blank ornaments; the retailer adds the names. Pens and gift boxes are not included.

Start with a sample of the actual design

A pen that works on paper is not automatically suitable for a finished resin ornament. The coating, writing area and pen tip all affect the result. Test the same design and finish that you intend to sell, using your proposed pen and normal handling routine.

Use the following checklist before placing an order for your personalization service:

Sample check What to record
Writing area Whether a short name and a longer name fit comfortably
Ink application Whether strokes are continuous and readable without repeated tracing
Drying The drying time observed on your sample under normal shop conditions
Handling Whether the fully dried writing smears during ordinary handling
Packing Whether your chosen packing method touches or marks the writing

Keep the tested sample and record the pen details for staff. No pen brand should be treated as approved without testing it on the relevant ornament finish.

Confirm spelling before writing

Ask the customer to provide names in writing. Record the exact spelling, capitalization and year, where the design has an appropriate space for one. For family ornaments, agree which name belongs to each figure before starting.

A simple order slip can include:

Show longer names against the available writing area before accepting the order. If the requested message will not fit, offer a shorter wording that the customer approves.

Set up a repeatable shop workflow

Keep a finished reference sample beside the writing station. Support the ornament securely, keep fingers away from fresh ink, and use the drying time established during your sample test. Have a second staff member compare the finished names with the order slip when possible.

Separate completed ornaments from items awaiting writing. A clear status system—confirmed, written, drying, checked and ready—helps staff track each customer's order during busy periods.

Prepare your own packaging and decide how customers will collect or receive their ornaments. Gift boxes and pens need to be sourced separately. Test the completed ornament in the packaging you actually plan to use.

Order with the writing service in mind

Choose designs with name areas suited to your customers and your staff's handwriting. Read the Wholesale Guide for ordering terms and review the Christmas ornament assortment guide when planning your range.

The minimum is 12 pieces per style and color; styles or colors cannot be mixed to meet that minimum. Freight is quoted separately.
